Professor of Contemporary Art History and Theory
Kate Mondloch’s research centers on contemporary art and theory, digital and immersive environments, and the relationship between art, perception, and embodied experience.

Nicole Ngo
Associate Professor of Planning, Public Policy and Management
Nicole Ngo’s research explores public health, environmental policy, and urban sustainability with projects examining the impacts of traffic and transportation on air pollution and health.

Tannaz Farsi
Professor of Art
Tannaz Farsi uses objects and images to explore history, identity, and geography and draws from cultural artifacts, feminist histories, and authoritarian systems to represent non-Western subjects through a lens that defies conventional identification.

Kyu-ho Ahn
Associate Professor of Interior Architecture
With professional experience in space planning, design, and project management, Kyu-ho Ahn studies human behavior in the built environment, universal design, equity-centered design, and accessibility.

Gerard Sandoval works at the intersection of urban planning, immigration, and sustainable neighborhood revitalization to support ethnic identity, equity, and bioregionalism.

With connections to Nike and over 110 US and foreign patents, Susan Sokolowski works on sports product design, performance footwear, and wearable technology.

The architecture program at UO Portland pushes us to think beyond the traditional role of the architect. We need to think deeply about the impact of our building, how we engage culturally with the community and build buildings that people will love and want to take care of for 100 years.
